Ames has been a municipal judge for twenty-five years, so he understands the benefits of a practical and community-oriented approach to legal issues. Although litigation is sometimes necessary and is certainly an important part of our practice, we recognize the value to our clients and to the community of avoiding unnecessary and costly litigation. To that end, we strongly support and encourage alternative methods of resolving disputes such as mediation and collaborative law.

James Ames has been recognized by Dispute Resolution Services of Tarrant County as a trained Level II Mediator and a Certified Family Law Mediator. He has successfully completed more than 500 cases as a mediator.

As a small firm, we are able to offer each client personal and individualized attention. We work as a team with our clients to identify and resolve their legal issues using all the tools at our disposal.

James Ames has served on boards or volunteered for national and local non-profit organizations, including the Chamber of Commerce, H.E.B. Rotary Club, Rotary International, Teen Court, Colleyville Lions Club, Bedford On Stage and the Fine Arts Council. He has worked as an instructor at Tarrant County College and  supports public education efforts through seminars and lectures.

In addition to extensive participation in civic organizations within the greater Dallas/Fort Worth and surrounding communities, James Ames actively participates in bar association activities through the Tarrant County Bar Association, the Tarrant County Family Bar Association and the Northeast Tarrant County Bar Association. Mr Ames is also actively involved with the Fellowship Church through the usher ministry.
